Seven Stars Resort, Turks & Caicos, Reports Guests And Property Safe And Secure Following Hurricane Irene
GRACE BAY, Turks & Caicos (August 25, 2011) - GRACE BAY, Turks & Caicos – Seven Stars Resort in Turks & Caicos reports that the property's guests and staff weathered Hurricane Irene safely and securely, resuming full service operations within hours of the storm's passing yesterday.
Seven Stars Resort also reports that no structural damage was sustained; only the incursion of some landscaping debris and sand to isolated areas of the property.
In addition, Island officials have confirmed no reported injuries during the storm, with pockets of flooding occurring in some localized areas due to the storms significant rainfall. However, no flooding occurred in the Grace Bay area where Seven Stars is located. The 12-mile stretch of Grace Bay Beach also remained intact, well protected from damage thanks to the island's natural barrier reef – the third largest in the world.
Providenciales International Airport (PLS) was re-opened today, and the resort worked closely with the airport to ensure that guests with planned departures were able to do so. Meanwhile, Seven Stars Resort looks forward to welcoming future guests as incoming flight service returns to their normal schedules.
